Builders In Company - Summer Party

  • Google Calendar ICS

David Frisch has generously offered to host our Summer Party!

WHERE: 1366 Larson Rd. Courtenay.

WHEN: Thursday June 28, 6:30-10:00 pm.

This is a potluck! Bring a dish and your beverage of choice. There's a BBQ in case you wish to grill!

Before we wrap up for the summer, we would like to celebrate the community we've built together in the past 6 months.

We're grateful to have a community here on the island who are open to collaborate, share their work and support one another.

This is a super casual get together pot luck dinner/ appies.

BYOB

No Door Fee.

Please invite your family, friends and co-workers.

This event is open to all other group members who haven't had a chance to be part of our monthly meetings. Their work may not be directly related to the building industry, but they have expressed an interest in being a part of the BIC.

This is our way to kick off the summer! Things tend to get busy through July and August and we'll resume our meetings again in September.

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Please email or confirm if you can make it, and/ or need more information!

Ryan Hughes,

Facilitator

Builders In Company - April Meeting

Hello Builders In Company!

We're all set for our next meeting with the main topic of the evening, "Energy". This is always a hot topic and with so many changes on deck for the construction sector, we'll need to educate ourselves on a regular basis to keep up.

WHERE: North Island College, Comox Valley. Trades Building. 2300 Ryan Rd. Courtenay.

WHEN: Tuesday April 24th, 2018 from 6:30-8:30/9

We'll have two of our Builders In Company members presenting their work:

Cristi Sacht of Elemental Energy Advisors will demonstrate an energy modelling scenario of Mike Croonen's new house with Hot2000. This will be an interactive presentation which I'm sure will be very interesting for all!

Kyrle Symons will bring to light his work with Prisym Renewable Developments. Kyrle is advancing the way we see renewable energy with his line of innovative solar solutions for power and heat! If you've ever had the opportunity to speak with him about his work you'll know his passion for this technology is contagious.

Discussions, questions/ answers and networking will follow.

For the time being we have decided not to create a membership fee structure. Though the cost per meeting has increased slightly to cover expenses and to allow this group to sustain itself.

We will have food and drink provided once again, something other than pizza!

To have your Business/ Bio on the Builders In Company website please e-mail your info. Allow others to connect with you.

Cost: $30.00 pp

An RSVP is a must!

Thank you , Ryan Hughes  Facilitator

Builders in Company - February Meeting

Hello Builders In Company

Our next get together will be at the NIC Comox Valley Trades Training Facility, a LEED Gold Certified project by Tom Dishlevoy and his team.

Where:  North Island College, Comox Valley, located at 2300 Ryan Road. (Trades building is located in the far back tree line of the campus)

When:   Tuesday February 13, 2018 from 6:30-8:30/9 PM.

Tom will give us a short tour of the building while sharing highlights and insight on what makes this building unique. Thanks Tom.

Erik Hardin, Head Instructor of the Carpentry Program, will share a bit about the training provided at the campus. Thanks Erik.

This time around we'll make a point to mingle/ network with one another a little longer on a casual basis. Make the connections you need and want!

The “sharing” component of this event is voluntary. We won’t be doing a round table speaking structure, as some folks prefer to connect on a one-on–one basis.

Once again, food and drink will be provided. Not a full dinner, more of an appetizer style arrangement. We'll see about the allowance of beer on the premise, stay tuned.

NOTE: A fee of $20.00/ pp will cover the food, drink, and facilitation of the evening.

If you’re not already a member and would like to attend, please click here to fill out the short membership application

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
